The International Co-operative Alliance and Euricse are pleased to be hosting a webinar of interest and relevance to cooperative leaders around the world. The session, to be held on Thursday, 1 December at 15:00 CET will offer highlights from Euricse’s recent research on how co-ops are experimenting with digital tools to strengthen and reinforce the cooperative identity. Two initiatives linked with large consumer co-op systems, MidCounties Cooperative (UK) and Lobyco (Denmark) will offer highlights from their recent initiatives to enhance member economic, governance, and community engagement through digital means, and Dr. Gopinath, Vice Chancellor of Digital University Kerala will discuss digitalization and the cooperative identity.
This session will also present the 2022 edition of the World Cooperative Monitor, published each year to report on key economic and employment data of the Top 300 cooperatives and mutuals in the world. The World Cooperative Monitor (WCM) collects robust economic, organizational, and social data about cooperatives worldwide. It is the only report of its kind collecting annual quantitative data on the global cooperative movement. This latest edition will mark the report’s move into its second decade of reporting on economic and social impact, and presents a deeper dive into digitalization and the cooperative identity.
This webinar is being organized as a project of the ICA’s International Cooperative Entrepreneurship Think Tank (ICETT) Working Group 3, which brings together leaders from large co-ops around the world to share ideas and facilitate mutual exchange on topics related to measuring and improving co-op impact. We hope you’ll join in this session to learn of the WCM’s latest findings as well as about how co-ops are using digital tools to enhance and promote their cooperative identity.
Following the webinar there will be a Q&A session about the World Cooperative Monitor.
